Literature Text
i loved the way we left our bodies,
bare
to show.
to feel
what warm
could be.
what need means.
or the push
of
hearts
against
ribs.
(my reminder.)
my fingers are telling me,
ill never feel
a touch
like this again.
that
no ones
lips
will ever
fit
this perfectly.
can i push my face
against yours,
and
feel your hands
fill the holes?
can i have
your skin?
your skin.
your skin.
your
skin
on me,
until i cant breathe?
i pull to you.
pull clothes,
pull ties,
pull
closer.
tell me
youll never
leave.
tell me
we
can
sink
into the grass
until
we are
green.
until our voices
make different
sounds.
and the birds will hear.
the bees will hear.
the weeds
will hear.
and
my heart,
will
heal.
and then the sound
of your voice
will be an anchor.
and your fingers
a
net
i get pulled into.
lost against
fish,
jewels,
sparkling sea sand
the
color
of
your
hands.
and everyday
i search for you
under stones.
in the swishing sounds
inside seashells.
i search
between seaweed,
leaves,
and
sun-warmed sheets.
pull your hand
to my hand,
kiss your palms.
and i will tell you
how i
never
thought
i
would
find
you.

I read this poem to my boyfriend.
I love it more and more each time I read this.
