Literature Text

im living in a world of assembled metal monsters
and stacked windows
a world where the most inspiring quote is:
"it will be better tomorrow"

everyone is looking
for forgiveness
and just the answer
to a prayer
but the angels are sick of wearing wings
and god keeps telling everyone
he doesn't exist

I thought the world was all about
love,
I guess I got mixed up
because butterflies are all praying
for a better life.
and every lover
is telling the other
not to feel so much
and that everything
they'll ever have
will be a lie.
they'll say,
"I loved you as long as I could,
but when the sun dies
and the moon is cold
things just don't seem worth it
anymore."

And all the clouds do, is burst and cry.

streets are scattered and falling
in shambles
with broken hearts and
shattered dreams
from people who
throw things away
just because
they're scared
of feeling.

lepers walk with broken toes
and peeling skin
shaking like a nightmare
gathering remnants of long lost loves
and all the people who they thought
cared.

these things are
sold.

everyone is desperate
for love,
and
death,
and casual sex.
and a reassurance
that they deserve anything
at all.

our lives are
fractured
on
mattresses
and the only hobby we have
is watching mountains
burn in furnaces

its different
now
than it was
back then
when I thought I knew what love was
when I never thought
id look forward again.
I didn't want to look
in someone else's eyes
or ever accept
the same obvious lies

then again, all im doing now is breaking someone else's heart.

you never notice
the dirt
on someone's hands
when they're pulling
you into bed.
and you don't say a thing
when they promised
love
but paid you instead.
we never
pay attention
to the awfulness
that follows romance.
or the way
summer,
will never feel the same.
because
I wrote your initials beneath mine
and they are still there.

even if we try
so hard
to forget it,

love is permanent.
and
honesty,
is a lie.
"but of all the times
and all the love
and all the desperate sobbing
that two human's can take."

a poem from the soul.
